ABI were tasked to design a very large LED-based artistic installation for an exclusive London nightclub. The specs were fairly unusual; 1387 red-green-blue LEDs arranged in a circle nearly 1.5 metres in diameter! All these LEDs had to run at over 25 frames per second and be controlled by an embedded PC.
ABI designed the schematics for the circuit boards and completed the PCB layout within one week of contract award. Integrating off-the-shelf LED drivers with the boards was completed on time, and the results speak for themselves!
The final piece was installed on time (quite a feat given the very tight deadlines imposed!) and the client was very pleased with the results.
